A real designer
down the road. Not
your offshore contractor.
Windsor Web Design is a one-person studio. I do the call, the design, the code, the launch, and the support email two weeks later when something needs adjusting. There is no "team." That's the whole point.
Hi, I'm Justin.
I started Windsor Web Design because most small businesses in Northern Colorado are stuck between two bad options: agencies that charge $10k and hand you off to a junior, or cheap template sites that look like everyone else's and rank like it too. There's a gap in the middle for someone local who knows how search works and builds accordingly.
My background is in SEO and marketing strategy, in that order. The web design and code came after. Most agencies build pretty templates and hope the SEO catches up. I came at it the other way around. I knew what makes a site rank and convert before I knew how to build one, which is why search performance and lead-gen thinking are structured in from the foundation, not bolted on at the end.
I keep the studio small on purpose. I take 1-2 new projects per month so every client gets the founder, not a junior. If you want a slick agency lobby and a deck full of stock photography, I'm not your guy. If you want the person who's actually building your site to also be the one who answers the phone, we should talk.
Six things I'd tell you on the discovery call.
Work that earns its keep.
A site should generate leads, calls, or bookings. If yours doesn't, that's a design failure, not a marketing one.
Local is a feature, not a bug.
I drive past your storefront. I know what your competition's site looks like. I know the local search terms. Distance lies; proximity helps.
Plain language beats jargon.
If your homepage reads like a SaaS pitch deck, your customers bounce. The best sites sound like the owner, not their consultant.
Speed is respect.
Half your visitors are on a phone, on cellular, in a parking lot. A 6-second load time is disrespectful. We aim for under 2.
Own your stack.
Templates and page-builders rent you a site. Custom-coded means you own the files, the hosting, the domain, and the analytics. Forever.
Small studio, deliberately.
I keep the client list small deliberately. If I'm booked out, I'll tell you straight and give you a realistic timeline.
How I got here.
I've spent years in marketing strategy and SEO before moving into web design and development. The sequence matters: I learned what makes a website actually generate business before I learned how to build one. Most web designers work the other way around. That's why their sites look great and do nothing.
Northern Colorado, by design.
I take clients in Windsor and the surrounding towns. The radius is small on purpose. I'd rather drive to a coffee meeting than schedule a fourth Zoom call.
Book the call. Worst case, you leave with a clearer picture.
The discovery call is 30 minutes, free, and there's no follow-up sales sequence. Worst case you walk away with a clear opinion on what your current site is costing you.
